The Mage Knight Sharum Nahar was indeed one of the best and worst members that the Order Eterni Magi had ever seen. His grandfather was one of the original defenders of Magus Keep during the siege by Maingth's forces and it is said that young Sharum's father was within the city walls. When Sharum was inducted much later in time it was said that he excelled through the ranks of the Mage Knights incredibly swiftly. He pursued many different paths of knowledge and studied in two areas with incredible zeal. The study of the magical attributes of living creatures and the incorporation of magical properties into weapons and armors. He studied the original artifacts of Cyrus and especially the works of the Starkindlers. His masterwork was named Nilmarin - The Singing Spear and was said to have contained the spirit of a pure spirit elemental or some say in hushed whispers that it contained the spirit of a lesser celestial. If indeed this is true then the creation of the weapon may have been the reason he was kicked out of the Order.
Despite the many mysteries surrounding the spear there are a few solidly recorded facts which can be verified. The spear was indeed patterned off of the Mirrored Knives of Math-Adaran and contains some kind of magical nullifying properties. When a blast of magical fire was sent against Sharum in a test he attacked the magical force directly with the spear head. The fireblast was instantly dissipated into energy an sound and caused him no harm. Sharum described that merely holding the spear allowed him the ability to intercept the blast of fire and gave him the ability to use the spears other property to destroy the blast. He also mentioned at the one test of the spear that it helped to refill the magical energy of the wielder. The energy transmission from a direct attack would be minimal, but from a pure source such as a magical creature one might drain enough energy to refill themselves in the middle of battle. This technique for magical draining he gave to the other Mage Knights gathered and it was this which prompted the order to kick him out. It outlined a technique which not only required the trapping of a pure spirit elemental but also the way to disrupt a beings magical energy flow and take it for yourself. Since the Order considers spirit elementals to be Holy creatures they looked upon his act as travesty. Nevertheless the spear Nilmarin has been avidly sought since this time by scholars, mages and warriors alike. The spear was last heard of during the War of Venture and has not been sighted since.
