While the river people are the most well known inhabitants of the country of Andred, they are not the only ones. The main capital of Andred, called Andred City, is located in the central region of the area. It is a large farming area and Andred City serves as country capital, seat of power, main military base and commercial trading grounds. Goods are gathered from the farms and hunters in the area and transported along the train line and the rivers. Andred City fulfills for the country of Andred the roles which Belcraft fills for the country of Crow. Those who have visited both cities however find Andred City to contain none of the trappings of Belcraft. Little political bickering goes on in Andred City because it is ruled by a single Duke. The Duke controls a castle and a large military force. He also mandates the training of every able bodied man and woman to train and serve within local militias. This causes the people of Andred to be perceived as very closed off and violent. In reality, the training is not very well organized and is left up to local practices, if not ignored completely. In fact, most people who are trained as militia members do civilian duties for militias. The reality is that the people of Andred are very warm and friendly within their own groups. If you prove yourself worthy to them, you become one of them and are welcomed thereafter. However, proving yourself is no easy task.
