Creation of the World

Creation of the World

Before the beginning there was the formless. In the beginning heaven and the universe were spoken and created from the formless.

1 Cyrus, our world, was formless and empty until Taeos took it in his infinite hand and with love and compassion brought forth the waters. In the waters were created the first of the myriad beings. Taeos looked over these and saw that this mere existence was good.

2. Taeos separated light from dark so that the myriad beings would know the cycles of time, he separated water from sky so that the myriad beings would know there was something else and strive to grow forward.

3 Taeos separated the land from the water so that the myriad beings would know that they did not have to take every step at once, but could grow in their own ways at their own pace.

4 Taeos brought the Archai to the land and the waters and caused them to bring forth the myriad beings into many different forms and for many different purposes to the land so that they would make it lush and green.

5 Taeos and the Archai opened the eyes of the myriad beings so that they could look upon the sun and the stars and the moons and the rings and all that was created so far so that they could know that their world was full of wonder and mystery and that their world was alive as they were.

6 Taeos and the archai taught the myriad beings whose eyes had been opened and they changed in many ways. Some of the animals began to stand on their feet and mimic the shapes that the archai resided in, some of the animals listened closely and began to speak and think like the archai. Taeos looked on it and saw it was good, he breathed life into the world and created from the air and the stone, from the fire and the water, from the clay and the tree and from the spirit of the world himself, he mixed all things and made them into shapes. He brought forth the dwarves from the rocks of the land, the elves from the trees, the ogres from the earth that the trees dug into, humankind from the clay that could not be penetrated by root and the fey creatures from the air that was perpetually free. He made all according to their kinds and into each one mixed a little of all the other. He added water to keep the body ever-changing, he used earth in each one to keep the forms solid and tough, he mixed fire into each one so that they would live brightly, he added air and breath into each one so that they would always give and take from the world to receive life.

In these six steps did Taeos bring the world to the twilight dawn. In the twilight dawn it is said the rings were visible and all the land was temperate and suited well to life, creatures did not know strife nor pain and all lived in accordance with the will of Taeos and nature.
