Time of Lost Magic

The star kindlers were not successful because they were losing the power of their magic. Slowly but surely Taeos was willing magic away from the world to prevent anything like the god wars from happening again. The star kindlers became less and less powerful, the magic of the animalia was growing weaker, soon the only magic that was left was so weak it required strange and long rituals and hidden arcane words to cause the smallest effects. Without magic the races had to rely on themselves. They built and grew, each facing their own troubles and perils and each learning new things about themselves and each other. The dwarves no longer used magic to move their creations but learned to use gear and wire. The elves turned to naturalistic means and technologies to supplement their dwindling powers, they became artists and warriors and a hundred other things within their long lifetimes. The ogres kept far from anyone and looked on outsiders with suspicion and fear. The feychyldren sought out the sleeping fey and tried to protect them wherever possible. Some grew angry that the fey had not protected them during the enslavement and used what magics they had left to kill the fey. They became the goblins through their anger and hatred. The humans learned many trades and became the median of everyone. They were not as great as any at just one thing but they were able to be good at everything as a race. They adapted to wherever they lived and split into different groups. The animalia traveled and celebrated life and began to settle throughout the world.

Without magic these races grew and changed. They learned to make useful technologies work for them and eventually had no need for the force once known as magic. They fought of the threats to themselves now with iron and steel, swords and axes and bullets not spells of fury. They plowed the lands and built their houses by their own hands and without the use of words or growth or order. They taught and raised their children with stories of the past but could no longer pull images from the water to show and thus they relied on the power of their words to make images in young minds. For a time life as a whole was peaceful. Countries rose and fell, alliances were made and broken, wars began and ended and the world continued on.
