Description
Sanjuro was a disgrace and a glory to the Aruna. Rebellious and contemptuous, he was also one of the strongest and most capable of the Aruna warriors. Sent on a mission to the land of Ithis to hunt down leads on some magical artifacts, he joined up with the Heroes of Venture and made little effort to come back to Elysium. Later when he was able to acquire the Masamune, he stole away from the remaining group and attacked the Aruna. Taking out all the guards, guards imperius and the council, he claimed rulership of the entire Aruna clan. He was eventually stopped by Heitaro, when he attacked the imperial city of clave. Sanjuro was killed and the Masamune reclaimed. It is said now to reside in the Imperial palace. Sanjuro was taken by the Aruna, and Heitaro was made emperor by the council of Daimyo.
History/Story
The wayward Aruna, Sanjuro, was an unlikely group of the Heroes of Venture. An Aruna scout sent to the country of Ithis to look into increased activity in the search for magical artifacts he encountered the group in the Forest of Blue trees. He was trailing some Whytegaard trainees in the forest when the Orcish armies began moving through the forest. He was forced to reveal himself to the trainees and their guardian and hide with them within a shrine to the Onyx Dog celestial. J'yre was also forced into hiding here as well. When Lurris and Ronsha followed the Orcs they were forced to take cover in the shrine as well. As the squires were not combat trained and their trainer, Graime was too old to partake in the battle J'yre and Sanjuro joined with Lurris, Ronsha and Jan to find another way out. After their escape Sanjuro continued travelling with them but never acquired any of the Kyozin armor which were the groups objectives. He is however credited with having been the Spirit column during the reawakening ceremony. Frederick Sujour has been asked about this many times over the years but has only scratched the shoulder where his arm used to be and declined to answer.
