Spider scouts originated with the Aruna. They were the elite spy forces that were sent to search out artifacts or spy on human rulers. Some who defected began to train humans in their arts, and eventually clandestine organizations sprung up to propagate these ninjaesque arts. Spider scouts are as concerned with knowledge as they are with not being seen. The Spider Scouts collect all forms of knowledge, oftentimes selecting only part of their knowledge to share with others. They are the silent watchers who record and save all parts of history in their secret lairs. Many times they know the things that we have forgotten over the ages. Most true Spider Scouts have a tiny tattoo of a stretched out ‘M’ over an 8 pointed web. The ‘M’ is for Mateos, the first human scout who began their mission of collecting knowledge. The 8 is for the 8 legs of the spider and the 8 branches of their organization which covers artifacts, history, rulers, weaponry, texts, artistry, sciences, and magic. Spider Scouts tend to use magical powers to aid in their tasks. Spiderscout is also a generic term given to a king’s spy, and does not necessarily mean they are on the level of a true Spider Scout. It is near impossible to find a spider scout; they will choose to reveal themselves to you.
