Magic exists beyond the limitations of those who grasp at its straws. No matter the form, the focus, or the style by which one approaches the nature of magic it exists in its own way. Whether you deal with the spirits, force the power from the bones of the world, attune yourself to the nature of magic, or follow the path of the Archai magic works in the exact same way.
Animancy
Those who are brave in accessing the power of magic are also known as those who dare to make deals with both the good and evil spirits of the lands. Though a spirit may be good, and your intentions match it, danger is always a proponent of any deal with a spirit.
Arcanist
Those who are stupid in accessing the power of magic are the ones who attempt to gain magic without the aid or help of a guardian. These Arcanists develop large and complex formula's to attempt to bring the pure force of magic under their control. The path of the Arcanist is faster than any other path to absolute power, however it bears with it a great danger. The magics which the Arcanists rip from the world itself are always unstable. The more power called the more chance a spell will free itself from it's bonds and destroy the user.
Clavian Cultivation
Through dedicated self mastery the clavians found ways to unleash their spiritual powers. Great masters of martial arts, tranquil monks of still mind, hidden talents amongst the Daimyo and the peasants, all found unique abilities. A great sage named Lo Pan charted the spiritual waters and found at the center a grace which could unlock to us what is known as magic. Thus were the great Clavian sorcerers born.
Summoners
The summoners, like the Animancists, make deals with the spirits, though for them magic is not the goal. The power of the great celestials and the elementals is their boon. Small slivers of spirit give form to the summoners manna and release great scions and avatars to fight on their behalf.
Taeosian Ritualization
Those who are holy seek the righteous and well defined path of magical power. Through Taeosian ritualization or Clavian cultivation one can obtain the ability to call upon the forces of magic. Both these paths are said to go through the guardian Archai or infinite essence of the weilder. Once the user has gained dual acquiescence with their spirit or Archai they are able to draw upon the powers of magic without harm to themselves.
